Faithplaces is written and maintained by Queensland writer and artist, Anna Harris. It aims to reflect the bigger picture of Australian life and faith, showing that faith doesn’t just exist in Church on Sunday. Anna is motivated by social justice and frustrated by lies and hypocrisy – both in the political system and in the workplace. Instead of yelling at the TV and Radio, Anna shares her passion here. Please enjoy and share with all your friends.

I don’t always notice Jesus at Church. Sometimes my mind is too cluttered with all the crap from the week to notice Him. It is a battle to quieten my busy mind.
But God is faithful and he finds me. Sometimes I notice Him in a child’s laughter, or in the lyrics of a song.That’s when I remember that I follow a Creator God who made me and you, this world and everything in. He used his eye for colour to create the Australian outback, with its deep reds and flaming oranges. He used his ear for sound to create the beautiful voices that show up in my Weekly Obsessions. He used his miraculous creativity to cause my IVF to succeed,… and to fail again and again.
Somewhere in the crevices of daily life, I find God. I hope you find Him too.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.

Psalm 139:7-12 NIV
